Cara joined Gallagher in June of 2004 as the organization’s first “procurement officer”. During her 20 year tenure, Cara’s areas of responsibility have increased significantly and now include oversight of our real estate portfolio, global travel, meetings and corporate aircraft programs, American Express and global payment solutions, Concur and expense reimbursement processes, campus operations, accounts payable, IT sourcing and general business services. . Gallagher’s aggressive growth trajectory and myriad acquisitions continue to add sizeable costs and complexity to the conduct of business. Cara’s has consistently taken a consultative approach to identify opportunities that reduce our burgeoning cost structure. She and her team effectively harness and leverage Gallagher’s behemoth spend to deliver best in class vendor negotiations and advantageous terms across a broad swath of categories. Concurrently, she and her team have focused successfully on bringing, policy compliance, standardized processes and impressive operational efficiencies to our extensive branch network Cara’s notable accomplishments include the construction and ongoing design and development of our headquarters campus and launching the first and subsequently leading every one of our Power of Gallagher conferences. In 2024, she and her team delivered $74 million in hard dollar savings to the organization. Her current projects include expanding Oracle, JDE, expense reimbursement and other financial systems globally, developing standardized travel and sourcing policies across all countries, and bringing India procurement under sourcing governance Cara is a graduate of Duke University and is a CPA. She and her husband Chris live near the ocean in New Hampshire with their labrador Bosco. Her favorite leisure activities include kayaking and boating in Maine and spending time with her 4 children and young grandson Charlie.
