Jeffrey Smith, Director Global Indirect Procurement, Mylan

I attended this event for the first time last year. I was in the midst of trying to extend payment terms with marketing suppliers and getting a lot of push back. Someone in the audience gave me advise on how to handle this and the issue was instantly resolved. I got some real value out of my attendance and so I am back.

This was my first time and I definitely enjoyed that it was focusing only on indirect, that there were many levels of attendees and a variety of industries.

Procurecon is a great place to network with other procurement professionals that face the same challenges and provides an outlet to discuss the issues of today. You can learn about innovation from suppliers in a passive way through presentations that showcase a concept and not necessarily a sales pitch.

I thought the information shared at the event was spot on in today’s procurement world. Everything was relevant, and it seemed everyone from a macro level were pursuing the same things. Speakers were “real” and engaged into what we are all doing. It validated a lot of our efforts. I wouldn’t change anything. I would advise however, that whatever means to capture the relevant procurement environment today that you use the same methodology to stay relevant next year.

ProcureCon is an extraordinary event that includes many of the top members of the Supply Chain community. The topics addressed are always cutting edge. It gives me an opportunity of exchanging ideas with and learning from Supply Chain executives across the country. It also gives me the opportunity of learning about software enablers that may be applicable to achieving our company’s business objectives..Recently, we participated in several roundtables that discussed Supply Chain’s role versus the role of Sale and Marketing. It sparked a spirited discussion, but clearly established an interesting link between the two functions. While we differentiated the two roles, as a function, we also explored the significance of joint strategies that aligns those functions with our customers and the supply base. This was truly an enlightening experience that was a definite “take-away”.

ProcureCon Indirect is one of the best run conferences in the procurement space. The agenda is relevant to current hot topics within the industry and the sessions are run with precision. I am most impressed with how the sessions are kept on schedule and there is plenty of time for networking. The exhibitors are strategically placed so that there is constant interaction with the attendees. It is certainly well worth the investment!

Randy Clark, Sr. Strategic Buyer, Volvo Group Non-Automotive Purchasing, Volvo

ProcureCon was one of the most professional things I’ve participated in throughout the year. Very well run, organized, the quality of people. The discussions at the event set me onto different approaches for Volvo... The solution zone brought me over 12 different supplier leads I need to follow up with. I’ll bring in more people to present internally than ever before...The networking opportunities alone are worth attending an event. Where else do you have the opportunity to sit in a room full of procurement professionals and listen to how they dealt with challenges and problems.....then meet them one-on-one to discuss further.

Rick Sorrells, EVP of Administration, Towne Park

The conference was perfect for me. I am not a professional procurement person and portions of the procurement area have recently fallen under my scope of responsibility. I wanted a conference that was strategic enough to help me connect the dots and better understand the logistics and procurement challenges that a high growth organization is likely to face…the conference met this need. I also wanted a conference that gave some tactical or “how to” best practices that I could potentially begin to execute upon the return to my office…the conference also met this need. Additionally, the conference was the perfect size for me…. Overall, I was very satisfied.
