Steve Hughes is the Vice President of Global Sourcing for the National Geographic Society, a 126 year old non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, DC.  He oversees a staff of 10 who manage $300 million in addressable spend for all direct and indirect categories.  Steve has an engineering degree from West Point and an MBA from the University of Missouri.  He has held progressively more responsible positions in procurement and operations including Product Manager at Hallmark Cards, Plant Manager at Packaging Corporation of America, Purchasing Director at Comcast, and most recently, prior to joining National Geographic in 2013, VP of Supply Chain Management at Vertis Communications.
